⭐️ Why You Need to Make This Recipe
- Method - One bowl, one masher, and a few minutes are all you need to make this easy recipe!
- Flavor - Simple salt, black pepper, and some cumin are added to the fresh aromatics in this recipe for a very fresh and vibrant guacamole.
- Texture - This guacamole is on the more chunkier side with all the add-ins but you could blend it to make a smoother texture.
🧈 Ingredients
Here are the ingredients needed to make this easy homemade guacamole.
Ingredient Notes
- Avocados - Make sure your avocados are nice and ripe (but not overripe!) for the best smooth and creamy guacamole.
- Jalapeno - Fresh jalapeno makes this guacamole so flavorful! I don't include the seeds, but you could if you want it to be spicy! If you don't like spice at all, replace the jalapeno with finely chopped green bell pepper or omit it entirely.
- Shallot - I like to use shallots but you could make this with white or purple onion if that's what you have on hand!
- Garlic - Fresh pressed or minced garlic is best but you could use jarred instead.
- Cumin - Just a bit of cumin alongside the salt and pepper really amps up the flavor!
See the recipe card for the full list of ingredients with measurements.
📃 Instructions
Step 1: Peel and remove the pits from the avocados and mash them together with the lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, salt, and pepper.
Step 2: Fold in the chopped jalapeno, shallot, and tomatoes until incorporated.
Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours or until ready to serve or you may serve it immediately.
💡 Top Tip
Save the avocado pits and add them to the finished guacamole to slow down the process of the guacamole turning brown! Trust me, it works!
