My go-to morning smoothie, this easy Cocoa Blueberry Smoothie is delicious tasting and loaded with nutritious blueberries and cocoa!
Ah, the old struggle of finding yummy breakfast options. Sometimes I enjoy breakfasts like my Maple Overnight Oats, other times just want a savory breakfast, and still other times I like smoothies!
I'm pretty picky when it comes to smoothies. I dislike smoothies that are too thick, so I add more milk, but that's just me! This smoothie is pretty thick so if you like thick smoothies, you will enjoy it as written. If you're like me, add some more milk to reach the consistency you enjoy!

🧈 Ingredients
Here are the ingredients needed to make this blueberry cocoa smoothie.
- Frozen Banana - You will need 1 frozen banana. For a lower-sugar smoothie, replace it with frozen avocado or cauliflower.
- Frozen Blueberries - The color of the smoothie will vary depending on whether you use wild blueberries or regular. Try my Blueberry Pecan Muffins for breakfast next!
- Cocoa Powder - I use Dutch-processed cocoa for a smooth and deep chocolate flavor but any kind of unsweetened cocoa works.
- Milk - Any kind of milk works here but the pictured smoothie was made with canned coconut milk. Dairy milk, goat milk, almond milk, oat milk, or cashew milk would also be great!
- Optional: Protein Powder - This is the unsweetened unflavored whey protein that I like to use but any kind of vanilla or chocolate protein powder would be great too. Sometimes I add collagen peptides.
