Banana Coffee Milkshake

June 13, 2020 by Naomi Andres 6 Comments

This Banana Coffee Milkshake would be perfect for a hot summer afternoon!  It only requires 4 ingredients: brewed coffee, frozen banana, ice cream, and milk.

I'm so excited to have some nicer weather in the forecast for the coming weeks.  We've been having some pretty rainy, cold weather here on the West Coast lately, but hopefully, that is behind us and we will have a beautiful summer!

On hot summer days, I like to switch out my usual hot coffee for an iced option.  In the morning, I usually have a simple iced coffee made from strong brewed coffee over ice, a pump or two of white chocolate syrup, and a splash of cream.  Simple but SO delish!

This Banana Coffee Milkshake has been one of my favourite afternoon coffee beverages this year.  It's perfectly coffee flavoured (I LOVE dark, strong coffee, but you can definitely use a lighter roast coffee to make this recipe!), not overly sweet, and so refreshing!  The little bit of vanilla ice cream and a whole frozen banana makes it just the right sweetness.  Of course, the extra chocolate syrup to garnish the glass adds more sweetness, too!

I like to think of this drink as a sort of milkshake, sort of smoothie, sort of coffee frappuccino.  Milkshake because of the ice cream.  Smoothie because of the frozen banana.  And frappuccino because of the coffee.  Whatever you think it is, just know I would definitely not judge you if you drank it for breakfast... 😜

Here are some other must-make recipes for this summer!
  • Zucchini Lemon Poppyseed Muffins -- a great way to use up all of the zucchini from your garden!
  • Funfetti Oreo Frozen Cheesecake  -- such a yummy (and fun!) frozen dessert!
  • Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake -- this easy no-bake cheesecake is so decadent and a perfect way to enjoy fresh raspberries.

Super fast, easy, and delicious! Would be perfect for a hot summer afternoon, though it is equally amazing on a rainy June afternoon (as I can testify to). 😜🙋‍♀️
