This 4-ingredient Coffee Banana Milkshake would be perfect for a hot summer afternoon! All you need to make it is brewed coffee, frozen banana, ice cream, and milk.
If you know me, you know I'm a big fan of coffee and coffee-flavored desserts! A few of my favorites include Irish Cream Tiramisu, Coffee Nanaimo Bars, and Mini Coffee Cheesecakes!
On hot summer days, I like to switch out my usual hot coffee for an iced option. In the morning, I usually have a simple iced coffee made from strong brewed coffee over ice, maybe some simple syrup, and a splash of cream. Simple but so yummy!
This coffee milkshake made with frozen banana and ice cream is a bit more of a dessert coffee. Suitable for an afternoon sweet treat. Or just whenever you would like to enjoy it! You could probably add plain yogurt instead of ice cream to make this better for breakfast with less sugar and some protein.

🧈 Ingredients
Here are the ingredients needed to make this coffee banana smoothie.
Ingredient Notes
- Banana - A frozen ripe banana makes up most of this smoothie. Try my Blueberry Banana Cocoa Smoothie next!
- Coffee - Make sure the coffee is brewed strong and then cooled down before adding or use cold brew!
- Ice Cream - You could add any type of ice cream but I typically just use vanilla ice cream. Try making it with plain yogurt instead of ice cream for breakfast.
- Milk - Just a bit of milk is added until your desired consistency is reached.

❓ Recipe FAQs
Yes! Simply use a dairy-free ice cream and milk to make it dairy-free.
Yes. Dissolve 1-2 teaspoons of instant coffee in ½ cup of water to use instead of brewed coffee.
Of course! You would probably need to use a larger blender (not a single-serving cup blender) but you can definitely double the recipe to serve two.
I always peel bananas before freezing because I think it's easier to do before. But you can freeze bananas with the peel on.
