These soft and chewy Reese's Pieces Peanut Butter Cookies are so buttery, rich, and filled with peanut butter candies and semisweet chocolate chips.
These cookies are very similar to my peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. If you like those cookies, I'm sure you will love these ones too. They actually have the same cookie dough base, but I added Reese's Pieces to make them even more tasty and fun!
I actually have quite a few different variations of peanut butter cookies on my website. From classic peanut butter cookies to chocolate peanut butter thumbprints to make at Christmastime (or anytime!). My soft monster cookies have peanut butter in them and peanut butter chocolate cookies feature peanut butter chips and salted peanuts in a fudgy chocolate cookie.

⭐️ Why You Need to Make This Recipe
- Texture - These cookies are softer and chewier than your average peanut butter cookie! The candy coating on the Reese's Pieces gives a pleasant slight crunch and the melty chocolate chips are delightful.
- Method - This cookie dough is so easy to make with simple pantry staple ingredients and does not require any chilling time - you can have fresh cookies ready in under 30 minutes!
- Flavor - Peanut butter on peanut butter; yes, please!
🧈 Ingredients
Here are the ingredients needed to make these peanut butter cookies with Reese's Pieces.
Ingredient Notes
- Butter - This recipe was tested with salted butter but you could use unsalted butter with an additional ⅜ teaspoon of salt added to the recipe.
- Peanut Butter - I have only made this recipe with Kraft brand creamy peanut butter and would only recommend that kind instead of natural peanut butter which is more oily and thinner which may adversely affect the texture of the cookies.
- Egg Yolk - An additional yolk makes these cookies extra gooey and chewy!
- Reese's Pieces - Mini or regular-sized Reese's Pieces both work here. Or you could use Peanut Butter M&Ms instead!
- Chocolate Chips - I make this recipe with semisweet chocolate chips because they are my favorite for most baking but you could use milk chocolate chips instead if you prefer!

📃 Instructions
Step 1: Cream together the softened butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract and continue mixing until fluffy.
Step 2: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Step 3: Add the combined dry ingredients and mix at low speed just until incorporated.
Step 4: Fold in the chocolate chips and Reeses Pieces.
Step 5: Roll the dough into balls using about 1 ½ tablespoons of dough per cookie. Arrange on a baking sheet, leaving 2 inches for spreading room between each cookie.
Step 6: Bake in a preheated oven for 8-12 minutes or until your desired doneness. Top with additional Reese's Pieces while still hot out of the oven, if desired.
💡 Top Tip
Some people like their cookies very soft baked and others like their cookies baked longer for a more well-done cookie. For this recipe, bake the cookies for 7-10 minutes for a soft and gooey cookie. For a baked-through cookie, bake for 10-14 minutes. Keep in mind, every oven is different as well so these times are only general guidelines!
