Here is a roundup of 12 Recipes to make this Christmas! From Christmas cookies to indulgent desserts and breakfast ideas for Christmas morning to fluffy dinner rolls to wow everyone at Christmas dinner, this guide has it all!
Cookie Recipes to Make this Christmas
While I do have lots of cookie recipes on my blog, these are just a few that are my absolute favourite and are always on my Christmas baking list! I like a good mix of spicy cookies, minty cookies, buttery cookies, and fruity cookies and this selection covers all of the above.
For the first recipe in this guide and hands-down the most important: Best Ever Ginger Cookies.
These babies are soft and chewy on the inside and crispy around the edges with a surprising bite from the addition of chipotle and black pepper to the spice blend! I (jokingly) say these cookies are the most important because they are always one of the first on my list to bake each year and I bake a lot of them. 14 dozen this year, in fact!
Second up, Glazed Eggnog Cookies!
These buttery cookies are delicate and simple but pack yummy nutmeg flavour and are topped with the creamy eggnog glaze!
Next are my Mint Chocolate Crinkle Cookies.
These decadent cookies are so full of chocolate flavour and a fresh minty pop from the Andes Chocolate Mints inside. Complete with the signature crinkled snowy looking powdered sugar on the outside!
Another of my all-time favourites, these Apricot Thumbprint Cookies always impress!
They might seem simple and a bit old-fashioned, but these soft, buttery cookies filled with tart and fruity apricot jam are a big hit. Change it up by making some with raspberry jam instead apricot. Or try any other flavour of jam.
Lastly for the cookies in this guide, No-Roll Sugar Cookies!
These are the only sugar cookies you will catch me making. I simply do not have the patience for rolling out cookie dough and cutting out cookies. These sugar cookies are buttery and gooey on the inside and crispy around the edges - perfect qualities of a good cookie if you ask me!
Breakfast/Brunch Recipes to Make this Christmas
Every year, my family has a special Christmas morning brunch. Everyone wakes up in their special Christmas Eve pajamas that my parents give us every year and we have brunch together before moving on to our gift exchange! I usually try to contribute some kind of sweet breakfast item to accompany my moms breakfast casserole or I think she's planning to make a frittata this year. So here are some ideas for yummy breakfast treats!
Overnight Cinnamon Buns!
Cinnamon rolls are always appreciated and these ones can be prepped and put in the refrigerator on Christmas Eve to be baked in the morning! How simple is that?
Next, Banana Gingerbread Muffins.
These yummy banana muffins are made with molasses and gingerbread spices. Muffins are simple and easy to whip up and these could definitely be made the day before. So festive!
These Lemon Cream Cheese Turnovers are so easy and fast to make!
Simple and fast is the name of the game on Christmas morning when you don't want to miss any of the fun and excitement going on! Just remember to take out your puff pastry the night before to thaw in the fridge. 🙂

And that's it!
