This Chocolate Walnut Fudge has a buttery smooth texture, dark and rich chocolate flavor, and plenty of walnuts and a little salt to balance the sweetness!
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, and butter. Microwave in 30-second increments **, stirring between each increment until the chocolate chips are just melted.
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk, 2 ½ cups semisweet chocolate chips, ¼ cup salted butter
Sift in the cocoa powder and add the vanilla and salt. Mix until fully incorporated and smooth. Fold in the chopped walnuts.
¼ cup Dutch-processed cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, ¼ teaspoon sea salt, 1 cup chopped walnuts
Smooth the fudge into a baking pan that has been lined with wax paper, parchment paper, or greased with butter. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the fudge to set. Remove from the pan and slice with a sharp knife.
Notes
Add an additional ⅛ teaspoon of salt if using unsalted butter.
You could make this recipe on the stovetop instead of in the microwave! Slowly heat the sweetened condensed milk and butter in a medium-sized saucepan over medium-low heat until the butter is melted and the mixture is very hot. Remove from the heat and immediately add the chocolate chips. Stir until all the chocolate chips are melted before adding the sifted cocoa, vanilla, salt, and nuts.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week of freeze for up to 1 month (for best freshness).
