- Salted Butter - Add ¼ teaspoon of additional salt if using unsalted butter.
- Sugars - A combination of white and brown sugar makes for a great flavor and texture. Add 1 teaspoon of molasses and use all white sugar if you don't have brown sugar on hand.
- Chocolate Chips - Whatever kind of chocolate chips you prefer; milk chocolate, semisweet chocolate, dark chocolate, or even white chocolate.

Step 1: Combine the melted butter, white sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
Step 2: Mix until fully combined and smooth.
Step 3: Add the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Step 4: Mix until fully combined.
Step 5: Fold in the chocolate chips.
Step 6: Press the dough into a 9X9-inch pan that has been lined with parchment paper or greased.
Bake in a preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until slightly golden around the edges of the pan. Let cool for at least 10 minutes before lifting out of the pan to slice and serve.
💡 Top Tip
Try serving these bars while still hot out of the oven with ice cream on top! Scoop out of the pan while they are still too hot to slice and top with vanilla ice cream. The ice cream will get all melty and delicious! Chocolate chip cookie bars à la mode!

Easy Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Ingredients
- ½ cup salted butter * melted
- ½ cup granulated white sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar * packed
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips *
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350℉. Grease a 9X9-inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray or butter or line with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla. Stir until fully incorporated. Add the flour, baking powder, and salt and stir just until no streaks of flour remain. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Spread the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it well into the corners of the pan and smoothing the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until slightly golden. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!

These tasted fantastic (we ate them while still warm)! The stoneware baking pan I used might have been a bit smaller than 9x13, so it took about 30 min to bake, but we loved how soft and full of chocolate these were. Definitely a recipe to make again!
